Appraisal Services
MKJ Art & Designs offers an appraisal service for your limited edition prints. We have been doing appraisals over the past 25 years for major universities and colleges, corporations and individual collectors. Our appraisals are for establishing present day market values needed for insurance purposes, shipping claims and resale.* Our appraisals are available for limited edition artwork by most all artists who are published by major publishing companies in America, and they are not limited to only the artwork that we carry.
In order to obtain an appraisal, we will need the following information:
· artist’s name
· title of the image
· number, size and type of limited edition (i.e., it is from the signed/numbered edition, artist proof edition, artist press proof, etc.)
· print on paper or canvas
· unframed or framed (if it is framed, we will need an estimate of your framing costs)
· type of certification, i.e., certificate of authenticity, letter of authenticity
· condition of artwork (is it in mint condition or does it have any flaws such as creases, tears, discoloration, water stains, dings?)
The above information can be e-mailed to sales@nationalprintmarket.com, mailed to MKJ Art & Designs, Attn: Appraisals, 4159 Steck Avenue #117, Austin, TX 78759 or faxed to (512-343-1552). If we are unable to locate the appropriately needed information on your artwork to provide an appraisal, we will let you know prior to your making payment.
The appraisals will be sent to you by regular mail, via e-mail or fax. The appraisal will include any back-up documentation from the source we use to gather pertinent information.
The standard appraisal cost is $25 for the first item and each additional item is $20 and can be paid by check, money order, PayPal, MasterCard or Visa. Please contact us to make payment arrangements at (800-343-1405 or sales@nationalprintmarket.com).
Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns – we look forward to assisting you in meeting your needs for present market values/appraisals.
*We are not members of the American Society of Appraisers or the Appraiser’s Association of America and therefore cannot make any guarantees as to values that may need to be established in matters involving the Internal Revenue Service or for other litigation purposes.
